We now have dmd 2.050 released, but the home page for Digital Mars still links to 2.049. However that page is done, it should probably be automated in some way to automatically match the link on the download page, but regardless, it needs to be updated.

Wow. I can't believe this is still a bug. Shouldn't the download link point to http://dlang.org/download.html instead of a specific version of dmd?! That way we will never have to keep updating this link again.

The link on the homepage has been pointing to download.html for a while now, and we have the $(LATEST) macro for the latest version. Closing as WORKSFORME as I don't know when exactly those changes were done.
